Now: Assuming you are talking about drinking in moderation, then that is ok, even when you are taking 30 mg of Celexa (citalopram). But your question gives cause for concern that you are stopping for the purpose of drinking, and thus for concern about whether you may have a problem with alcohol. I hope not.

A week, be cautious: This is not a hard science. Celexa (citalopram) may take up to a week to clear from your body, but how soon it stops having an effect - particularly one that adds together with alcohol - is unclear. Do know that alcohol use while on this medication can slow your mental abilities. Even stopping the medication, these side effects may linger awhile longer than expected.
