The max dose for zantac (ranitidine) is 2 150mg pills/day, but my heart burn is terrible and i have already taken 2. can i take a tagamet on top of those two?

I wouldn't.: If your pain is so severe and is not being quelled by two Zantac (H2 blocker), then I would question whether it is acid reflux. I'd go see a physician. However, you can also consider trial of a proton pump inhibitor like nexium (esomeprazole) instead to see if it helps. I still recommend you seeing your doc.
