A member asked:

I have polycystic ovary , a cyst measuring 17 mm. does it require surgery or it can be shrinked by medecine? i had fever of 104 degree and my usg shows small amount of fluid in pod. please suggest.

Fever: If your temperature is 104 degrees you have a serious infection which needs to be diagnosed and treated. One 17 mm cyst could be nothing more than a normal functional cyst growing an egg and certainly doesn't require surgery and probably not even medicine. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome isn't an ultrasound alone diagnosis and this ultrasound doesn't sound like PCOS. Hope this helps,
