A member asked:

Intense throbbing pain in left jaw, neck, upper teeth (several), and eye. present 5 days, sporadic through day. dental exam/x-ray 1 mo ago (ok). tmj?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

TMJ doubtful. : Pain from TMJ or myofacial (muscles of face, etc) origin is unlikely due to symptoms. You could have an infection or abscess that is referring this throbbing pain. You should go back to dentist and have it re-evaluated. May finally show a sign where it is coming from. Next, you would need to see physician for neurological origin. Good luck.
