Lump on the back: The lump you feel most likely is a benign tumor of the fat called a lipoma. It is important to know if it is movable, soft or hard. A hard immovable lump is of concern and could suggest cancer. If it is soft and movable it most likely benign. Also, has it increased in size? If it is increasing in you should be examined ASAP. Some one should check it anyhow at some point.
