Gentian violet: is a natural product that has antifungal properties. It has been used for the treatment of thrush in babies for centuries, by applying it to the insides of the babies cheeks. It can be used in the mouth, but should not be swallowed. It can also be applied to the skin 2-3 times daily. The biggest problem with gentian violet, it stains cloth badly; Overuse can cause "tatooing of the skin".
