Yes but only if . . : 800mg is prescription strength ibuprofen. What i'm getting at is that you should always tell your prescribing doctor & dispensing pharmacist everything that you're taking so that they can check for drug-drug interactions. If same doc prescribed both Ibuprofen & lortab, s/he should've told you how to take meds. Lortab is brand of Acetaminophen + hydrocodone which can be taken w/any nsaid.

Yes: Sometimes a total or partial nail avulsion is very painful. I do tell my patients that talking Ibuprofen for breakthrough pain is safe and effective. But not taking to longer together for longer than 2 to 3 days.

That's a lot....: Simple nail removal shouldn't cause "severe" pain. It may be infected as well. Contact your doctor for a quick follow-up exam.
