A member asked:

Can a ferritin level of 14 cause symptoms? if so, what are the symptoms that a ferritin level of 14 can cause?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Iron deficiency: Ferritin levels per se will not cause symptoms. Low ferritin levels are an indication of iron deficiency and you may be anemic, if so, weakness, paleness, lack of exercise tolerance may be some symptoms. A woman of reproductive age loses iron in menstrual blood and it would be okay to take oral iron supplement with multivitamins.
