What are the signs of having an allergy to albuterol? i went in the hospital and started that and i've coughed ever since. is it an allergy?

Dr. John Chiu answered

No: It may mean that your airways are finally opening up allowing the mucus to be coughed up. But if the problem continues. be sure to contact your doctor since this may also mean that your asthma is getting worse. Usually asthma exacerbation requires a controller drug (inhaled /oral steroid)- using albuterol alone may actually worsen the asthma.
