It Depends: A lot more info is needed. First, what do you consider a long time? That might sound silly but people often have very different views on major details like this. Are your periods regular, what are they like? Do you have any other med probs or symptoms, what about family history. Also 1/2 THE TIME partner issues are at least involved! I would highly suggest a consult to discuss the details.

Not really: I think that the success of pregnancy depends on the right time of intercourse as well as correct ovulation time.-which is mid cylcle.

No: There is no problem with fertility in women with lupus. They can conceive as easily as any woman except in about 5%, which is the infertility rate of the general population. Any problems with fertility should be investigated in both partners by an obstetrician-gynecologist who specializes in infertility. You do need to discuss the effects of your medicines on the pregnancy.

Why? : I notice you are 21. Why the need to get pregnant fast? Most 21 year old spend lots of time and energy trying to avoid pregnancy as they are working towards a successful education or career. The decisions we make as a young person shape the life we will live forever. I'm just curious in your case ---- what's the rush?
A 43-year-old member asked:

How much time does it usually take to get pregnant?

Dr. Charles Whiting

Depends on Age: The chance of pregnancy in any given month in a young, healthy, fertile women is 20% - 25% per month. At age 43, odds are quite a bit lower, around 9% per month. If you want to get pregnant at age 43, I would consider seeing an Ob/Gyn or Reproductive Endocrinologist because time is not in your favor. Best wishes!
