Allergy: This suggests an allergic reaction to something internal or something that comes in contact with your hands. You have to be your own detective to figure out possible culprits. Benadryl(causes drowsiness) or Claritin (loratadine) helps relieve the symptoms. The prominence of hand veins during the itchy reaction is nonspecific and doesn't appear to have any significance unless they remain swollen and tender.
