A member asked:

Having stabbing upper abdominal pain with fever and hard green stool. visited a gp and he told me that is due to too much gastric acid. is that true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: Upper abdominal pain is nonspecific, however too much gastric acid is not the cause. The hard stools could be from relative dehydration. The color could be from something you're eating. Abdominal pain could be from ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, gallstones, or inflammation of the lower esophagus. A GI doctor may be a better place to go for the symptoms. Hope this helps!
