Didn't you ask?: KevK, I assume that you must have agreed to be catheterized. Surely you would know why it was done? There are several types of catheterization procedures, quite different. One (bladder catheterization) is done for blockage of urine flow, and another is for possible serious heart problems. Assuming you had the former, you would know it relieves obstruction and usually nothing else.
