Tussionex: Is a combo medicine containing codeine and diphenhydramine, wouldn't have a direct effect on heart rhythm, and I believe no harm in trying one dose to control cough, however, your description of having seasonal allergies and cough all night rather denotes lower airways irritation which can progress to constriction, codeine can worsen that, please check with your doctor/allergist for management
