All my kids have a hard time going to sleep and my dr told me to give them melatonin. i now have a 2 yr old and she has the same sleep problem. can she take it? it's the weekend so i can't call him.

Yes: You can give her a low dose of melatonin. That said, if there is such a strong family history of sleep problems it may be a good idea to consult a sleep specialist.

Bedtime routine should include bath ,story and a regular bedtime. Keep the bedrooms clean and turn all electronic devices off two hours prior to bedtime. It may be best to try warm milk two hours prior to bedtime, avoid caffeine prior to taking Medication. Watch for signs of lack of attention, daytime drowsiness. Note snoring pattern and number of nights per week that this occurs.
