Numbness?: Think nerves to your toes. Maybe you're wearing shoes which are compressing your toes together at the front. Also think diabetes which has neurological consequences. Talk to your doc about this.

More than a feeling.: More than likely, the side of the toe next to the third toe is the numb side. Probably caused by irritating a small digital nerve. These things can happen and usually clear up in a few days to a week. It goes without saying that if the condition spreads toe other toes , foot or other areas of the body, see your family doctor.
