No: x-ray is a modality that only detects abnormalities in the bone structures such as fractures and/or arthritis. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a diagnosis made on a clinical level based on your symptoms, findings on examination, and usually a confirmatory test such as nerve conduction study/electromyography (NCV/EMG).

No: No, carpal tunnel syndrome can not be detected on X-ray. A history and exam will usually raise the suspicion of carpal tunnel syndrome, which then can be confirmed on a test called a nerve conduction test.
