Sexual maturation : Armpit hair development is part of sexual maturation, as are the appearance of pubic hair, testicular increase in volume, enlargement of the penis, facial hair, changes in voice tone, etc . Tanner's stage describes this changes, in great detail. If your development is not following the usual pattern or other signs of sexual maturation have not appeared, you need to see an endocrinologist.
