Had d&c done for heavy bleeding. blood level is at 7.6, but doctor won't give blood until it drops to 6. is this okay? very weak and lightheaded.

Iron and time: If the D&C fixes your abnormal bleeding then you should start to slowly build up your blood counts. Taking supplemental iron with Vitamin C and B-12 and time should bring you back to normal. Physicians are very reluctant to use blood products unless you cannot function because of the limited availability of blood and side effects associated with some transfusions.
