Pubic hair in the...: ... genital area tends to grow in the same direction as hair in the groin and thigh. You COULD trim a small patch to about 1/2" with a pair of scissors and tell for sure. I can't help but wonder, however, if your "short & curlies" are trying to tell you something: "Leave us alone!!!" Shaved pubies tend to get razor bumps & other problems. Just saying...

Hair is fine: There is no need to shave pubic hair. The more people who shave their pubic hair, the more pressure there will be upon other people to also shave their pubic hair. Since there is nothing inherently abnormal about pubic hair, there is no reason to shave pubic hair. It's just fashion. If one is a teen or young adult, she has many other more important things to do; pubic hair should not be an issue.
