Not recommended: The current recommendation is to avoid elective induction less than 39 weeks. There is significant data to support the fact that 39 week babies do better than 37 week babies (i.e. Nicu admissions). Thus, unless there are medical indications it is not recommended to be induced at 37weeks.

I wouldn't: At my hospitals, the obgyns follow the recommendations of their specialty society and will not schedule anyone under 39 weeks except for demonstrated medical need (maternal or baby health). Too many permi babies with lung disease with early induction.
