Weight: Insure your hypothyroidism is well treated, this sometimes requires switching meds. Make sure diabetes is not a factor and beyond that, it is good lifestyle issues, diet choices and exercise. Be part of a group. Motivation is a good thing. All the best.

Yes but: If you are receiving the adequate amount of thyroid replacement for low thyroid function, the thyroid has not bearing on your weight issue. If you want to lose weight , you must change your lifestyle since dieting alone would not provide long-term changes. Eat smaller portions, reduce alcohol, meat & carb intake, exercise more (4 days per week). Walk whenever you can.
