A member asked:

Is it ok to be on plavix (clopidogrel) for aps if aspirin had quit being as effective for symptoms associated with antiphospholipid syndrome?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Comments: ASA is not very effective unless taken in relatively high dosing, such as 325mg four times daily, and clopidigrel is far superior to 81 mg of ASA. Do not take both, as there is increased risk of brain bleeding. One alternative, Aggrenox, does contain aspirin in combination, but is a very different product from Plavix (clopidogrel).
