A member asked:

Is an unplanned pregnancy bad for an epileptic? its controlled with keppra (levetiracetam) and havnt had a seizure for about 4 yrs.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily : Lots of epileptics become pregnant and have healthy children. That being said, you should see an obstetrician during your pregnancy. Most likely, your doctor will have you see your neurologist for evaluation also. I'd recommend starting on folic acid 1mg a day. Also, schedule an appointment with your doctor ASAP.
