Hi. i have a sore throat near the base of my collar bone. it hurts when i swallow, yawn, cough, or take a deep breath in. have not yelled lately. ?

Viral Pharyngitis?: Most of these sore throats are caused by viruses and are self limited.If it is very uncomfortable you can take Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen for pain.But if associated with fever and difficulty swallowing then it needs to be checked by your doctor to rule out strep infection
