No: Valium is an anti anxiety med. Melatonin is a sleep aid.

No: Melatonin is a zeibgeber - it signals the body that it is dark outside (and time to go to sleep). It is not a sleeping pill. Valium (diazepam) increases GABA activity in the brain, reduces anxiety, makes you sleepy, lasts for more than two days in the body.
