Is it bad to kiss someone on the cheek of you have a cold sore? even if there family?

To be super safe....: Don't kiss anyone anywhere if you have a cold sore. The herpes virus is unlikely to be transmitted to intact skin on the cheek...much more likely to be transmitted through mucous membranes like the lining inside your mouth. Whether or not you are related to someone doesn't make any difference. But avoiding kissing when you have a cold sore is overall a good idea. Good wishes:)

It depends to the: immunity of the person who is kissed. A blood test can show if you already have the virus and you are immune to the virus or you do not have the virus and not immune to it. People with hsv (cold sore) virus will sometimes transmit the virus on days when there is no sore. But most of us carry this virus with no symptoms since we were children, thus we already have it and are immune to it.
