What kind of tests would a gynaecologist perform if you had absent periods?

Several: first would be sitting and talking with you and asking a lot of questions. A physical examination will be done including an examination of the vagina and uterus and ovaries including possible cultures and Pap smear. Blood tests would also be ordered to check hormone levels, pre-hormone levels and thyroid function test. This would be the start. Hope this was helpful. Dr. R
