Some thots: Have not found Lamotrigine to work well to prevent headaches (although terrific epilepsy drug). Do not like Inderal due to side effects. But, you might consider topamax, (topiramate) naproxen, depakote, or botox. Some otc preps might include, riboflavin, coq-10, magnesium, butterbur, feverfew. Might see a specialist in headaches.
