A member asked:

How can you tell the difference between sand mites and chigger bites?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Where you got them.: Chiggers live in grass, brush, hay and other green spaces but they're active only in moderate temperatures (60 -90+ degrees.) Sand mites (fleas) live in coastal, sandy soils and are more heat-tolerant. Both are very tiny and both itch like crazy. OTC non-sedating antihistamines and cortisone creams can ease the symptoms. Your pharmacist can help you find the right medications.
