A member asked:

I am breastfeeding and trying to get pregnant but do not have a period yet..is there anything i can do to help fertility or get pregnant sooner?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not advisable to do : Breastfeeding causes something called Lactational Amenorrhoea. It is not advisable to take any medications for fertility at this point. It is safer to wean off a baby after breastfeeding for at least 12 months, to help the menses to resume, although they may be anovulatory ( no ova )for the first few months. Generally it is safer to space the children by at least 2 years in between.
