Your complaints: of what is wrong and the finger exhibiting this condition is enough to make the diagnosis. It is the something like a blued eyes person coming into the office and the doctor says you have blue eyes…you don't need a test to prove they are blue…you merely have to look at them...

Trigger finger : Is a clinical diagnosis and MRI would show inflammation, but it may not differentiate between true trigger finger and other conditions.Things that I have seen fool providers include a snapping swan neck finger, a subluxiing extensor mechanism at the MP joint. a click in a joint . a referred click, and even dupuytrens. A trigger finger can occur in 5 different grades. So presentation is mixed
