I always did them as: an out patient. an office setting unless it has a dedicated operating room, is not safe as far as I am concerned. Recovery is fairly short, mainly for the skin incision to heal. early use is encouraged. full return to activities would be no pain in the hand, and well healed scar. typing et al can be done in 2-3 days. direct pressure on the hand will cause some pain, but gradually increase activity
