Viral vs bacterial: After 4 days of these symptoms: if your 6 yr old is not improving, it is worth while to have an exam performed to identify the potential cause of the fever and headache. It could just be a viral illness that will improve with time and comfort. If bacterial-antibiotics may facilitate recovery.
