A member asked:

Hello,do really dose antibiotics in chicken make our body resistance to antibiotics and should we stop eating chicken, fish and eggs for the same?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bugs / drugs: Bacteria may develop resistance to antibiotics when they are exposed to non lethal doses over time. Giving antibiotics when not needed (for example to "prevent" infection) promotes resistance among the exposed bugs. Your body does not become "resistant" to antibiotics. It is the bug that is resistant. One should not stop eating good food for fear of a resistant infection.
