I have gotten a number of larger, red, itchy bug bites with whitish yellowish centers in a few of them over te last few nights while sleeping. i have also developed a sore swollen tonsil on my right side with white splotches on it, are these interrelated?

Hard to tell: Although it is unlikely that they are related, it is also impossible to rule out such a probability without more information and possibly testing. The yellowish stuff in the lesion is suggestive of an infection and thus you need to see your doctor about this problem.
