Myths: Many mother in laws or grandmothers have used these words.So many babies have transient bow legged appearance that the myth arose that it came from letting them stand. It doesn't hurt baby to do what you did and mother in law is trying to be helpful, but will often base her advise on misinformation.Just tolerate her and appreciate her desire to help, but enjoy baby and don't let her guilt you.
