Chronic back pain: Back pain has many interrelated causes. Degeneration of the intervertebral disks results from poor posture, poor diet & hydration, sedentary behaviors, and smoking. The same issues result in tight, painful muscles. Angry or sad mood can cause muscle pain to be chronic. "nothing" can't work by definition, but there are many interventions that a skilled holistic doctor could recommend for your mom.
