Tonsils Cauterized: Greetings. Typically I will cauterize tonsils after a tonsillectomy and patients are experiencing bleeding. Regardless of the reason, once the tonsillar area is Cauterized, redness and a white scabbing like covering develops over the Cauterized area. This is the normal state of healing. It is a very painful area and redness will occur. See your doctor for a post cautery recheck.
