A member asked:

I have an iron rich diet, light periods, and no gi inflammation or bleeding, so why do i have an iron deficiency?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need more info: How do you know you have iron deficiency? What are your serum iron and ferritin levels? What is your hemoglobin and red cell indices? If you do have iron deficiency, it may due to poor absorption of iron. Iron deficiency may be sole manifestation of Celiac disease. It is not feasible to provide a more meaningful opinion without history, physical examination and may be some tests.
