Dysmenorrhea: Painful menstrual cycles is a common finding, especially in younger patients. There is not a specific cause usually, but this should be discussed with you FP doc to rule out any potential causes such as endometriosis or uterine fibroids. NSAIDs can be taken during your period to help control the pain. You can ask your FP about hormonal birth control to help control your periods
