Red swollen ankles: Hi if the redness in on the back side of your calf you need to be seen urgently today. If you have any shortness of breath or chest pain you need to phone 911. If the redness is hot or warm to touch and is on the front shin and/or ankle you still may need to be seen but not so urgently. If there is no heat or pain you can see how this resolves over the time you have to rest.
