A member asked:

What is better for a webber c fracture after orif a boot or a cast?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Surgery may be best: Most Weber C fractures will require an ORIF. A high fibular fracture will have ligamentous damage associated with it and treatment with use of a cast, unless a non-displaced fracture is involved, is more likely to result in long-term arthritic issues. A boot is usually not be recommended since it will not provide adequate protection of the fracture.
