A member asked:

Can heavy nasal congestion cause vomiting in 4 year old child?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: Over the years I have seen many kids with excessive nasal drainage have recurrent vomiting of a phlemy material. This material is poorly tolerated by the stomach. Pushing fluid intake can dilute the material and reduce vomiting episodes. Efforts to reduce the nasal congestion with a nasal wash can also be helpful.
