Is it true that if you want to remove the metal plate from your 5th metacarpal bone, you have to wait for at least 6 months since original surgery?

Hands heal more-: -rapidly than other long bones of the body. I usually would wait until imaging shows complete healing. Then when the hardware is removed U have 2 B protected 4 about 3 wks 2 allow the bones 2 remodel so they can accept the stresses. While the hardware is in it stress shields the bone so when the hrdwr is gone it needs time 2 re-align its internal structure 2 B strong again.
