Cyst: This may be a sebaceous cyst(wen) which is now infected and may require antibiotics and/or drainage. I recommend that you see your physician or a surgeon in view of redness and tenderness. In the meantime apply hot(not too hot) water applications,pat dry and apply an antibacterial ointment like neosporin or bacitracin.
