Pneumococcal vaccine: The pneumonia vaccine protects against Pneumococcal pneumonia, which is the most common type and is essential for many adults who are at risk. However there are many more viral and fungal, as well as bacterial agents that can cause pneumonia, so though the protection is meaningful, it is by no means universal.
