Pneumonia Vaccine: There are three kinds of pneumonia vaccine, two kind are for children only and are given in series of shots beginning at age 2 months.Pps vaccine for older children and adults is usually given as one dose.But some people will need a booster after 5 years.

Yes and No: There are many different types of pneumonia including many different bacteria, viruses and even fungus and chemicals, etc... There is no vaccine to cover all forms of pneumonia. However, there are vaccines for specific types of pneumonia. Varies with age: If you are referring to the adult preparation the answer is simple. The pn23 vaccine is given once to adults after the age of 65 and may be given a second time if the a first dose was given before 65.
