Cbti and insomnia: First see a physician to rule in/out any phsyiological or medical conditions that affect sleep. Second improve sleep hygiene behavior (see link in comments section). if it is determined that insomnia is not due to a medical condition and simple steps toward better sleep hygeine do help, recommend seeing a therapist who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia - highly effective.
