Sure: Ranitidine (Zantac (ranitidine)) can help with the symptoms of GERD. Excessive belching is a symptom of GERD. However, if you have no relief from belching after using Zantac (ranitidine) for a week or two, please consider other causes for belching like indigestion, hiatal hernia, H. Pylori infection/gastritis, or even IBS. Antacids can help with indigestion. Follow up with your internist/GI doc if symptoms worsen.
